The Shift
The Agentic Web is Coming
The web is about to undergo its biggest interaction shift since mobile. AI agents, not humans clicking links, are becoming the primary way people discover services, compare options, and take action online.
Today, when someone asks an AI assistant to "find me a managed IT provider in Orange County," the agent scrapes search results, parses HTML, and guesses at page structure. It works, barely. Links break. Forms are opaque. Pricing tables get misread. The agent is reconstructing meaning from layout, not from intent.
Google's WebMCP changes this. Instead of agents guessing what a website can do, the website tells them, with structured, typed interfaces that agents can call directly. Think of it as an API layer that sits between your site and AI agents, no backend changes required.
This isn't theoretical. Chrome 146 ships with WebMCP support. The W3C Community Group is formalizing the spec. And we decided BRITECITY should be ready on day one.
